So it took us forever to actually decide to shoot our engagement photos and we didn't actually shoot them til about a month before the wedding - but hey - however late they were, it still captured us while still "engaged".
Far from the casual white shirt and jeans engagement photos typically seen, we decided to have fun with this and make it more "fashion" and play with the concept. We shot it in the vault of the old Dominion Bank, which is now the One King West Hotel. The concept behind the shoot was "breaking into the safety deposit boxes" or "sneaking around the vault after dark". We had a blast! We styled the shoot with pearls, loose diamonds, old stock certificates, vintage rings, Cartier and Tiffany jewellery boxes, and $100,000 cash. Secret: we got 10 bundles of $1 bills and put a $100 bill on top of each to make it look like 10 bundles of $100s. We made $2,000 look like 100,000! Our photographer Danny from 5ive15ifteen, who was brilliant and awesome to work with, eyes popped when he was looking through our props and found out it was real cash he was leafing through. Hilarious!
