Man Hair (Update)

Here's what my hair is currently doing.  This is after a full day at the beach with sand and sunblock in it I'm sure, but you get the idea.  Maybe I'm no Ben Hill, but I'm liking the classic look for now.  I'm thinking this'll be it for the big day, but who knows.  There's 20 days in which spontaneous impulses might creep in and I'll wanna try something new!  Probably not! LOL!  Adventurous...but not this close to the wedding.

As for Stacey, no current pic, but she's still looking gorgeous with her long brown waves.  She's gonna look amazing that day!

Wicked White

We just got our teeth whitened yesterday and are so happy with the way they look They were done with a product called Wicked White and whether you have an upcoming wedding, or just want a brighter smile, I definitely recommend it! Kathy, who whitened them for us, was outstanding and we couldn't stop smiling and looking at our teeth in the mirror. We also bought a whitening pen to apply at home and maintain our teeth in between whitening.  Will definitely go back though for one more visit a few days before the wedding just to get them Hollywood white. Check out her website at http://www.indental.ca/ or call 905-272-5500 to book an appointment.

Man Hair (Update)

I'm 6 weeks away from the big day (holy #$*%!!! where did time go?).  I'm not 100% sure I'll reach my desired hair length by the time the wedding day rolls around.  I'm still growing it, but it just isn't coming out fast enough.  Currently, I'm wearing it like the guy in the pics below.  Parted to the side - very classic.  This may be the look I have to stick with.
If not, Stacey keeps insisting I go back and buzz my head like I had it last fall.  It was platinum blonde and very short and although it was a pretty drastic change, it seemed to suit me and I really like it.  Who knows.  We're both very impulsive and spontaneous when it comes to hair.  With clippers in the house, you never know what mood might strike me to just pick em up and buzz away...
Disclaimer:  The pics above are used just as reference points when talking about my hair.  Not delusional enough to think that just my hair looks like them, I look like them.  LOL!

Program

Always looking for a new twist or creative way to do things and we came across these fans.  Rather than putting our program in the traditional sense on regular folded paper, we thought it would be a great idea to incorporate the program into a paper fan.  It's a garden ceremony in the middle of summer so it'll also come in handy to cool down if it's a hot day.  Currently working on ours but below are some examples we've seen.

Engagement Photos

So I'm pretty sure we still haven't taken our engagement photos.  But we're technically still engaged so we still have time!  We're doing our shoot next weekend and are getting pretty excited.  One King West is one of our favourite hotels in the city and love its history and the fact that it used to be an old bank.  We're gonna do our shoot in the old vault and what's now the Grand Banking Hall which is where all the teller stations are.  And we chose this location just cause we've been to the hotel and thought it was cool.  Not until we told a few freinds and family did it click that we're both bankers and doing out photos in an old bank!  LOL.  Kinda cool that it worked out like that. Check out some of the photos below of what it look like.  We'll update this our photos after the shoot.

Cake Update

We had our heart set on the cake we saw last year until we walked into a cake shop and saw this cake.  We thought it was stunning and classic and would tie in so nicely with the decor at Graydon Hall that you see in the antique chandeliers adn other areas of the manor.  The baker is going to create hand-made white hydrangeas to match our flowers and match the colour of the icing perfectly to match our decor.  Unfortunately, my white peacock won't fit on top as planned but I'm sure we'll be able to work it in somehow.

Don't Drink & Drive!!!

Please please please ... be smart and responsible and don't even think about driving if you've had anything to drink that night!  I want all my friends and family to have a blast, but arrive home safe and in one piece.  The bar will be open so I do expect the party to be a  great one and drink to your heart's content...just plan ahead for the end of the night.
If you drove to Graydon Hall Manor, you can leave your car overnight in the parking lot and take a taxi to a hotel.  Remember, we have a block of rooms under "Harris-Madrigal Wedding" at the Westin Prince which is like 5 minutes away from the venue.  It'll be a very inexpensive cab ride ... a lot less then a car accident, an injury, or worse.  To book in advance go to westinprincetoronto.com or call 1-800-WESTIN-1

You can always google map it or punch the address into your GPS as well if my little maps don't cut it.

Guestbook...something vintage

Not hating on anyone who has had these before, but just not the biggest fan of those traditional white guestbooks with satin and flowers and lace and shells and all that.
So we were thinking of some unique way of capturing our guests comments and nice words but that's not cheesy and cliche.  We came across an idea in a Martha Stewart magazine of getting an old ledger or old school leather bound book (found a large portfolio by Moleskine) and having our guests play with a Polaroid or instant camera and capture an image of themselves and put it in the book next to what they have to say.
We thought it was such a cool and fun idea and very creative and interactive.  And then another idea floated in...
Since Graydon Hall Manor has that beautiful old English feeling and such a vintage aesthetic, we wanted something that would tie in with the decor, while still having somethign whimsical and unique.  So our guestbook isn't actually a "guestbook".  What our guests are going to write thier thoughts with is a vintage typewriter (which I'm sure most haven't used in ages, if ever!) and the sheets will later be bound into a great collection of our friends' and family's kind words, thoughts, advice, and wishes.  Very easy to put together and currently on the hunt for the perfect vintage typewriter, so if you know of anyone with one or a great vintage shop where to get one, give us a shout!
